The Stone Pavilion nursing home received a $2.3 million construction grant for veterans, according to U.S. Rep. James Clyburn.
The Stone Pavilion in Columbia is one of three nursing homes for men and women who have served in the armed services statewide.
The grant from the U.S. Veterans Administration is to be used to renovate and upgrade the more than 40-year-old facility including upgrading the nurse call system, fire alarms, lighting, handrails, flooring, the roof and to reduce the threat of asbestos.
