The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas has welcomed Representative Tom Rice to visit the W.M. Jordan Company‘s South Bay Inn and Suites job site in Myrtle Beach. W.M. Jordan is currently in it’s first year of the twenty story high-rise hotel project, where construction is slated to be completed in June of 2018.
The Oct. 18 visit comes as ABC recognizes Rep. Rice with the “Merit Shop Champion” Eagle Award. These awards are given to legislators with an 80 percent or better voting record on key issues during the previous session of Congress.
“The Carolinas are fortunate to be represented by a number of members of Congress who are true champions of the Merit Shop Philosophy and Free Enterprise system,” said director of government affairs, Chris Bullard. “We are extremely thankful for Congressman Rice’s sound leadership in Washington. His commitment to our industry and it’s workforce development play a critical role in our member companies success across the state.”
Representative Rice walked the perimeter of the job site with Chris Bullard (ABC Carolinas), Justin Whitley (project manager, W.M. Jordan), Rebekah Laws (project engineer, W.M. Jordan), Frank Bliley (superintendent, W.M. Jordan), and Carson Rejzer (asst. superintendent, W.M. Jordan).
