Devro Inc., which produces manufactured sausage casings for the food industry, broke ground on a $60 million expansion to update its 37-year-old facility in Sandy Run, reports GSABusiness.
The expansion includes the construction of a manufacturing plant at the same site as the existing plant, which is located about 35 miles from Columbia. The new plant will be a fully integrated manufacturing complex with the capacity to grow.
Four production lines are expected to be fully operational by December 2015.
