Greenville continures to attract interest from developers. Several commercial, retail and residential projects have recently been announced for the area. The most recent is planned aprtment complex on the site of the former Greenville memorial Auditorium.
Atlanta-based developer Alliance Residential Company recently submitted plans to Greenville’s Design Review Board for a four-story, 257-unit apartment complex called Broadstone Gateway.
“We love the downtown story and the experience that has been created over time,” said Alliance spokesman Bob Weston. “Residents will have the ability to walk to all of the great restaurants and retail stores downtown, and it is also very close to the core job base in downtown Greenville.”
The Greenville Design Review Board is scheduled to review the Broadstone Gateway plans on Feb. 6.
If the plans are approved, the existing buildings will be demolished and the site will be cleared. Construction activity is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2014 and the building will open in third-quarter 2015.
