American College of Building Arts to renovate, move into Trolley Barn in Charleston

The American College of the Building Arts plans to renovate recently-acquired historic Trolley Barn on upper Meeting Street in the city of Charleston, reports The Post and Courier.

Following the completion of renovation work, the college will move into the building. The college will have 39,000 square feet of space in the Trolley Barn, according to Jay Waddell, the college’s vice president for administration.

A renovation will begin early next year, and college leaders expect to move into the space in December 2015.

The college is the only one in the country that offers four-year degrees in old-time building techniques such as masonry and ironwork.
