In South Carolina, construction hiring is still slow.
While all of the state’s largest metropolitan areas have added construction jobs since March of 2013, none are among the nation’s leaders, The Greenville News reports.
The numbers from Greenville’s construction employers barely budged over the past year, with a net of 100 new jobs to 11,800, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. Columbia and Charleston were only a little better, according to the trade group.
Columbia hiring was up 3 per cent, or 400 jobs, to 14,900. Charleston construction employers added 300 jobs, or 2 percent, to 14,500.
