Flatiron-Zachry Joint Venture wins $231M contract to reconfigure 85-385 interchange

The South Carolina Department of Transportation awarded a $231 million contract to Colorado-based Flatiron-Zachry Joint Venture to reconfigure the interchange at interstates 85 and 385 in Greenville County, reports GSABusiness.

The interchange is the third busiest in the state, behind the interstates 26 and 126 interchange in the Columbia area that has 202,150 vehicles daily and the I-26-Interstate-526 interchange in the Charleston area with 195,100.

According to a statement by the Department of Transportation, the work is scheduled to start soon after a notice-to-proceed, and is expected to be completed within almost three years.
